About the Classes


Beginner/ Gentle Yoga: This class is a great way to learn the basic yoga poses.  we will incorporate a beginning flow, and both standing and seated postures. Some discussion on the philosophy may also be incorporated.

Sunday Stretch: A very gentle class that emphasizes stretching the entire body.  Basic stretching on the mat as well as some yoga will be incorporated without the typical yoga flow.  A very good class for working out aches, pains, stiffness and improving range of motion in areas of inflexibility.

Restorative Yoga:  This class is truly a slow paced class focused on using the breath to go deeper into poses that increase flexibility.  Fewer poses are incorporated as each one is held for a greater length of time so that the mind body connection can deepen as the breath helps to create the space for increased range of motion.

Dharma Yoga:  The emphasis in this class will be to incorporate traditional poses into a flowing sequence that gently builds flexibility, balance and strength.  Students will work on moving consciously with their breath and gaining body and self-awareness as a result.  A strong focus will be placed on learning correct form for those who are new to yoga. 

Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Intermediate Level II on Mondays, Saturdays- Level I
This class will help develop a strong practice done for purification as well mental and physical health.  The class draws upon a variety of styles such as Baptiste, BKS Iyengar, Ashtanga and Tripichore.  The focus will include developing flexibility, strength and balance.  Classes may incorporate advanced asanas such as inversions and arm balances, backbending and hip opening.  In addition, each class will incorporate core work to develop a strong back and abdominals. Modifications will be given to make every yogi feel successful.  Emphasis will also be given to those working on growing their personal practice.

Yoga & Fitness: This class is great for people looking for a really efficient workout and yoga experience all in one.  The class starts with a half hr. of well planned fitness that includes a variety of upper, lower body and core work using things like dumbbells, resistance bands, ankle weights and swiss balls.  The second half of the class is a yoga flow that will help relax the areas we just worked out.  A great way to make the most out of your busy schedule.

Yoga Fusion:  An overall fitness class that incorporates weights, swiss balls, core work as well as yoga stretches to provide students with an invigorating workout that gets your heart going as it challenges your body and balance.  Every class is different.  The focus will be on incorporating multiple muscle groups to provide students with an efficient full body work out.

Dharma GENTLE classes offer yoga & breathwork in Sri Dharma Mittra’s traditional yoga style.  These classes develop flexibility and strength within a traditional structure that beautifully incorporates mind, body and spirit.

Yoga Fusion is a fun & challenging mix of yoga using light hand weights, toning balls, and various other equipment, to provide a great over all fitness class.
The Vinyasa classes have poses that flow from one to the other.  The classes will provide a great physical practice with some  focus on the core as well.  
Each class will provide variety and creativity, as well as some basic , and familiar poses .
