About the Classes
Beginner/ Gentle Yoga: This class is a great way to learn the basic yoga poses. we will incorporate a beginning flow, and both standing and seated postures. Some discussion on the philosophy may also be incorporated.
Sunday Stretch: A very gentle class that emphasizes stretching the entire body. Basic stretching on the mat as well as some yoga will be incorporated without the typical yoga flow. A very good class for working out aches, pains, stiffness and improving range of motion in areas of inflexibility.
Dharma Yoga: The emphasis in this class will be to incorporate traditional poses into a flowing sequence that gently builds flexibility, balance and strength. Students will work on moving consciously with their breath and gaining body and self-awareness as a result. A strong focus will be placed on learning correct form for those who are new to yoga.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Intermediate Level II on Mondays, Saturdays- Level I
This class will help develop a strong practice done for purification as well mental and physical health. The class draws upon a variety of styles such as Baptiste, BKS Iyengar, Ashtanga and Tripichore. The focus will include developing flexibility, strength and balance. Classes may incorporate advanced asanas such as inversions and arm balances, backbending and hip opening. In addition, each class will incorporate core work to develop a strong back and abdominals. Modifications will be given to make every yogi feel successful. Emphasis will also be given to those working on growing their personal practice.
Yoga & Fitness: This class is great for people looking for a really efficient workout and yoga experience all in one. The class starts with a half hr. of well planned fitness that includes a variety of upper, lower body and core work using things like dumbbells, resistance bands, ankle weights and swiss balls. The second half of the class is a yoga flow that will help relax the areas we just worked out. A great way to make the most out of your busy schedule.
